Book Review: Accelerated Learning Techniques

I've recently read this book Accelerated Learning Techniques by Brian Tracy and learning expert Colin Rose and I must say this has been one of the best books I've ever read.  As an entrepreneur and an MBA- Juris Doctor student, there were often times when I would be at a burn out point or become disinterested in what I am studying.  To be honest, I am in one now.  But through this book, I was awakened.

This book starts by making as aware of the importance of knowledge to our success and covers every area you need to know: how to learn, memorize, application: read, write and communicate and reflect.  I'm surprised that it even tackled visual association to remember every person you meet which is actually one of my known weakness since birth.  Now, I am again encouraged to improve in this aspect.

What I like about this book is that it explains to us the essence of why and how we should do things and not just instruct us on what to do.  The approach is so methodological that it starts with our state of mind and attitude first before the actual learning part.

I agree with Rose and Tracy that "Intelligence is NOT fixed, it is like a muscle that can be deveoped, and learning how to learn is the key" neither is it about IQ.  Intelligence is a way of action.  It is about using your intelligence to be more efficient towards your goal.   The truth is, I live my life with this principle but I've always been misunderstand as being paranoid.  Now, I'm happy to find out that I have a valid reason and it was explained by an expert.

I highly recommend this book to anyone.  Although, it may not provide the exact answers we are looking for but it can really open our minds to things we never thought or realized before.
