Cooking for Health with Chef Ninyo Laus of NINYO Fusion Cuisine

If its one thing I'm lacking, its cooking skills.  I only know how to make sushi, cook rice and saute vegetables.    So when I heard that there was a cooking demonstration last July 5,2011 by Chef Ninyo Laus, I wanted to attend to learn how to cook.   The event was held at Shangrila Plaza.  I had a lot of childhood memories in Shangrila Plaza.  Back then, there were no nearby malls yet so we had to go to Shangrila Plaza every week.

There was a video for the demonstration for cooking different dishes using Thermos Cookwares.  The procedure in the video looked pretty simple.  After each video, there explain the health benefits of each dish.  Check out Thermos Philippines Fan Page for the videos and try it.  But Chef Ninyo Laus advises to use the Thermos Premium Cookwares because it has excellent heat conductivity.  They are premium because they are composed of 5-ply stainless steel.  According to Chef Ninyo Laus, the first time he used it, he was surprised that the ingredients don't stick to the stainless steel surface so its very easy to use.  With these, you can cook like a "pro".

There were trivia games. Everyone was eager to participate because of the great prizes, Thermos Mugs and a Thermos Premium Cookware.  I almost won the Thermos Premium Cookware for my mom too but the I was disqualified due to Mr. Del Rosario's discretion so he offered a FREE Thermos Mug as consolation prize instead.  Nothing wrong with trying right?=) Here are the lucky winners.

There is also FREE coffee.   I was so intrigued with the Krups Frappe maker reasonably priced at 7,000 php.  I was so excited about it that I even told my siblings as soon as I got home.  Then they told me that they already saw it at a food expo earlier and that they opt to upgrade to a Krups coffee maker with frappe maker instead.
Overall, it was a well organized event.  Everyone went home with a FREE Thermos tumbler.  Although it would have been better if there was an actual cooking demonstration so the audience could taste the food and try out the actual product.  Nevertheless, it was a fruitful FREE cooking demonstration with great prizes too.  Thank you Rustan's and Thermos for holding such an event.
