Nuffnang and Hapee Special Screening

Random thoughts on why Nuffnang and Happee is FIRST CLASS!

Despite having known Nuffnang for a short period of time,  Nuffnang is the only community that offers quality service to the advertisers as well as bloggers like me.  Nuffnang is one of a kind.  It is first class because it delivers more than it promises.    I'm now actually a Nuffnang fan!  I check their updates and surprises whenever I can.  They offer bloggers like me a chance of having something never thought possible.  Events, freebies, earnings and more!  Now, could you believe Nuffnang and Hapee will have a Special Screening?  Makes you wonder what's more to come.

Since childhood, we have been using Happee Toothpaste.  They are one of the few brands that offered kiddie flavors which I've loved as a child.  I also recall having field trips in their factory.  That's how welcoming they are in promoting the learning development of children.  Now that I'm an adult, we still continue to use Happee toothpaste.  Indeed it is proudly a first class Filipino Brand in terms of quality and price.

CBTL's Espresso & Cream Ice Blended ~ My Kind of Coffee!

A few days ago, I wrote about CBTL's Espresso & Cream Ice Blended Open House (see separate entry).  The promo was from 10 a.m to 12 n.n.  We arrived at CBTL Robinsons Place at around 11:50 a.m.  There is a poster of the CBTL's Espresso & Cream Ice Blended Open House outside and beside the counter.

There were no lines when we came in.  (Unlike the last month's blockbuster line during the 50% Starbucks promo which we gave up on=p) The cashier asked us for our order and then I told her we were for the open house.  She asked how many and if we'd like it with whip cream or coffee jelly (add 30 php).  I said with whip cream only.  With all smiles, she asked for my name and issued our receipt.  I actually thought that there is a charge for the whip cream but it turns out its free too.=)
We sat while waiting for our order.  We noticed that despite having an open house and FREE coffee, there were many vacant tables.  I browsed the crowd and only found a few availing it.  There were empty ones left at vacant tables.
After around 5 minutes, my name was called and we got our order and left.  I noticed that people may differ in the way they enjoy their ice coffee with whipped cream.  For me, I sip the coffee first before mixing it with whip cream to appreciate its full flavor.

While sipping, I had a random thought.  Cold drinks are more difficult to formulate than hot drinks because if its hot, the drinker can just add more cream or sugar as much as he pleases.  But with cold drink, you can't adjust it once it has been served.  With each person, having their own taste preferences, it may not please everybody.

This coffee with or without whipped cream is my type of coffee!  This is what I expect from an espresso.  The coffee is aromatic, thick and strong.  One sip will bring you bitter sweet goodness that lingers for a few minutes.   My family and Kurt loved it too!  Do you love this coffee too?
Drank till the last drop
I love CBTL's hot drinks especially their teas.  They have a wide variety of them.  Now I have something to order cold too.  They also offer good incentives for CBTL Swirl Rewards Card Holders.  Aside from the points you earn which can be used for purchase you can also use their WiFi for FREE.  It's also an ideal hang out because seats are often available.  How about you have you tried CBTL?  Share us your experience.=)

Take Out at ChickChat Affordable Singaporean Casual Dining Fast Food

Last night, my family spent some time shopping at SM Manila.  They noticed this new restaurant and decided to try it out.  It's named "Chick Chat".  They called me and asked me what I wanted to order and I told them to just surprise me.

Chick chat's take out packaging was pretty nice.  They had this white paper bag.  The food were placed in boxes.  They brought home a Cereal Chicken (worth 99 php) and Singapore Chicken Rice Box (worth 79 php) and their left over of the Crispy Jacket Fries.

The Cereal Chicken with the sauce and rice was placed in a rectangular box.  As I opened the rice, it was fragrant and shiny.   As I took a bite at the Cereal Chicken, it was crunchy and tasty.  It was like a crispy fried chicken but covered with oatmeal.  The chicken meat was tender and juicy.  It goes well with the sauce too.  When I ate it with the rice, it was so delicious I had to taste it again only by itself.  It had a taste of chicken broth.  But there was something else.  Perhaps it was pandan leaves and some type of oil.

The Singapore Chicken Rice was placed in a typical chinese take out box.  I had slices of chicken and some lettuces and tomatoes.   As indicated by the color, it was soy based.  It was delicious.  It even tasted better than the Cereal Chicken.  It also came in the same fragrant rice.

The Crispy Jacket Fries were like normal fries except it had meat floss (ma ho in chinese).  I liked it! Perhaps because I've loved eating meat floss since I was a kid.

Overall, the meal was great.  It was delicious and very affordable too.  It was even cheaper than most fast foods.  Their concept were good.  Their dishes were unique and the rice that goes with every meal was superb.  We will probably dine here and try out other dishes in the future.  Hope they continue to produce more dishes so we could have more choices.

Out of 8 hospitalized pregnant women since April at Seoul, Korea, two women are already dead.  The death was cause by an infection from an unknown virus.  The first woman who was nine months pregnant died on May 10.  While the second 36-year old woman who first visited the hospital April 21 was diagnosed with pumonary fibrosis (early flu symptoms and breathing difficulty) died yesterday.

Despite two patients being positive for the common cold virus (type-53 adenovirus), health official could not find directly link between her illness and the virus.

But let us not be alrmed yet, since according to Yahoo News "Considering no similar case has been detected in an investigation covering 43 university hospitals nationwide, health officials said it was unlikely the virus would be infectious....The hospital also started studying a paper on deaths of young children aged 2-5 with similar symptoms over the years. It was investigating the possibility that the mothers could have been infected with a respiratory disease from their babies."
